BBWO: BLACK BUSINESS WOMEN ONLINE

Hi,

I design and make jewelry and since I have a professional presence online, I always want to be professional about everything, but I'm also human and I have my good days and bad just like everyone else. My question is how do I balance both? Is it ok to have a personal facebook and twitter, as well as a business one for both?

GOOD QUESTION, I WAS WONDERING THE SAME THING? BUT I USE ALL MY PAGES FOR BOTH,YES U ARE RIGHT ABOUT THE GOOD DAYS,BAD DAYS,#BBWO

Yes, it is.  Actually, it is highly recommended.  However, do not link your personal, social platforms with your business platforms.  Regardless of good-days-bad-days, your audience may judge your business practices based on something you might say, on one of those bad days.

Thank You!

I used to feel the same way and you know what I think you have to seperate the two. Keep a professional persona always and keep your personal life private. I too have a facebook and I have alot of friewnds from school and such but I always keep it professional and all my friends are doing great things also and we support each other. But my face book and twitter is geared towards my business I market and promote on facebook and twitter I am feature products or results, positive quotes my website and ect. , my friends are other people doing business and alot of connects with people whom are doing the same business as I.

Hopes this helps!

Yes it does! Thank you.

I understand your position, and I think social media networks like Facebook have become SO integrated in our "real" lives we think we have to put everything out there...all the time. I have a professional presence online and believe me...I'm 100% human too. I don't keep my personal life or business life separate, because I want people to see me as a real person to.

However, if I'm having a bad day, I don't put my business on Facebook either. We have to have our own personal limits and if me and hubby get into a heated argument, my social networks don't need to know that. You can still be personable without being TOO personal.

Hope that makes sense!

That was awesome thank you so much! You ladies on here are amazing!
