Women Mastering the Balancing Act

Women faced with the challenge of wearing numerous hats. We've conquered all and it seems so effortlessly. However most are silently shouting for a since of relief. While we would have it no other way we just need someone to understand our cry !

Happy to join your group. I'm a single mom with a daughter affected by an autism spectrum disorder, which makes parenting much more challenging. I've started an organization for women caregivers who care for children with autism. Never trying to underplay the extensive time and energy involved in caring for children in general, caring for children with developmental disabilities can be so overwhelming at times, especially if the parent is alone. I hope to bring information resources, services and products to these women in hopes of bringing some sort of comfort, support and relief. I'm currently looking for vendors who provide high quality products and services that meet the needs of this type of audience. I sincerely relate to your comments. Please check out my websites.

I think the biggest problem that we do as sista's is put everyone else's needs in front of our own. Its important to place the same kind of value on self as you do for other people. Take time to chill out, pamper, exercise and sit in that steam room and do nothing. Its a great way to stop, reconnect and recharge.

We cant help being busy but let's not make it overwhelm us and manifest in negative ways through our personalities and body. Try to do the things that you enjoy and want to do rather than what you feel you should do. Let's get rid of that disease to please others and please ourselves. Think of your ideal life and then bring it into reality. If what you are doing does not fit into a more peaceful and fulfilled lifestyle then stop and get back on track.

Hello Ladies,

How are you all ? Have any of you made progress in your steps toward making sense of the madness. Here is some food for thought.

Your internal wisdom is the part of you that knows what is true and best for you. Each one of us is born with this gift yet it often gets lost in a sea of external voices, opinions, and jugdements.

Well it's time to recapture this priceless gift.

Make a time and place when all you have to do is concentrate on yourself- not the children, pets, your boss, your co-worker, your spose, your unfinished laundry or your list of errands.

Make this a special place a quiet zone and sanctuary, close your eyes and listen to your thoughts. Be at one with yourself and quietly tap into your internal wisdom.

If this is new to you, be patient it may take time. But as you listen carefully, you will gradually come to know that the greatest wisdom is inside your heart.
