About Me:
I have gone through several metamorphoses during this lifetime. I was born in rural West Virginia, raised in Philadelphia and now reside in Nashville, TN. Half of my life has been spent jumping the bandwagon of other’s dreams. I worked as a research scientist providing basic science information in regards to several cancerous diseases, such as breast and ovarian cancer. I have also played a small role in the drive to find a cure for the AIDS virus. I am now working on supporting my dreams. I own an online travel company and I am developing marketing strategies that will allow me to grow that business to provide revenue in the six to 7 figures. I am an advocate for teenagers and Co-Director for an infant mortality initiative, The Nashville Birthing Project. I have had many successes and will position myself to continue in that fashion.
I feel passionately about the arts. I love neo-soul, old school soul and rap music and I am enthralled at live concerts. I was an African dancer, but, I have passed the dance performance torch to my youngest daughter. I love the theater, both large or small productions. I revere books! They allow me to use my imagination and visit new places and situations. I am a student of life and the journey that I now choose is one that is preparing me to plan and begin my dream vacations!
I want to help you achieve your dream vacations! Let me help.

Flying on the cheap!

Posted on June 25, 2008 at 8:44pm 0 Comments

The airlines are fighting to stay in business and deeply discounted air fares are about on their way out. However, there are some ways to get a cheap flight so that your vacation does not become a staycation! Aaron Smith, a writer with CNNMoney.com presented five ways to fly on the cheap.

1. Fly during the slowest days of the week.

Tuesday and Wednesday are the slowest flying days of the week for business travel so demand is low, and so are the fares.

2. Fly during the… Continue

Did I meet my challenge of seeing Philly on $10 per day?

Posted on June 20, 2008 at 12:02am 0 Comments

The last event I attended while I was in Philadelphia was the Odunde Festival, one of the largest community- based street festivals held in the country. Odunde is a celebration, which comes from the Yoruba tradition, and celebrates the coming of the New Year. It was hot, both temperature wise and culturally. I recognized several traditional dances, which were celebratory and reflective.

Now, did I meet my challenge to see Philly on $10 per day? Well…

I was in Philly for 13 days and I… Continue

We're all a little Irish, aren't we?

Posted on June 16, 2008 at 2:52pm 0 Comments

I am still at the Art Museum and I had a pleasant suprise. Friday evening is meet, greet and be entertained and I was by the music of Scythian and a glass of chardonnay! Scythian is described as a "unique hodgepodge of Irish, Celtic, klezmer, and gypsy influences". And since I am from Nashville, I could hear the bluegrass influences. Believe me, the Art Museum was not a stuffy quiet place, because people were clapping, stamping and dancing, children were off their ADHD meds and the flow of… Continue

Doing the Rocky!

Posted on June 15, 2008 at 6:52pm 0 Comments

The most memorable scene in Rocky 3 is when Rocky Balboa runs up the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art and raises his hands in victory to the backdrop of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. I did the Rocky thing, well, sorta! I walked up all of those steps and for the first time, I did not just stand on those stairs, I went inside of the building. A statue of Rocky Balboa remains at the bottom of the stairs and he looks the worst for wear! There has been some controversy as to whether he… Continue

Hello again,

Please check out this month issue of The Adventist Times www.theadventisttimes.com/.

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month www.nationalbreastcancer.org/default.aspx

Do use the month of September to find a way to support the Breast Cancer Movement, even if it's just to increase your knowledge.

View the Breast Cancer articles and video segments. Encourage your loved ones to schedule their mammograms for October, and remember to do Self -Examinations. Early detection is key!

Breast Cancer is not just a woman's disease; men should examine their breasts as well.

I've received TONS of requests to re-play the interview with David and Tamela Mann. She's so pretty!
Well here it is...ENJOY!

Please check this months issue of The Advenitst Times www.theadventisttimes.com/.

If you would tell me what you think about Donnie McClurkins page, and the page on Overcoming Addiction. Leave me a comment please. I need to know if these topics are helpful. I'm trying to help as many people as I can.

Minister T.D. Jakes has some "real talk" for the men in our lives.

Stay Blessed Always,

Hi there, I just wanted to introduce myself and my new business. I am trying to network with as many people as possible to see if there are ways that we can support each other. I offer unique and affordable works of African art that make impactful gifts for all occasions. If you have a special occasion coming up, or if you just want to connect with Africa yourself, please bookmark our site.

Do you know anyone who has a birthday or special event coming up, Momma Cheryl?

Thank you for your consideration.
