How did you find BBWO?
Since as long as I can remember I have been planning birthday parties and such for family and friends. I dabbled with entrepreneurship here and there and it was only when I was laid off in 2006 that I begin to take my entrepreneur spirit seriously! I started baking cakes for people and seriously making jewelry to get by while on unemployment, which was a successful plan! Just as I received my last unemployment check (6 months later) I got another full time job...thank you Jesus! Since then I worked begin freelancing as a paralegal, while planning Tallahassee's 1st (now 2nd) Annual Girls' Night Out! (www.tallahasseegno.com) to expose my Party Gals business. If you didn't know, Tallahassee is a conservative college town, that I am about to shake up!
Okay, so in December 2007 I turned 31 years old. I strongly feel that my purpose in life is to be my own boss! I hold two college level degrees, which I earned while working as a full time paralegal in South Florida. I moved back home to Tallahassee, Florida in 2004 and worked as a paralegal, until 2006. I am a freelance paralegal/virtual assistant, social event planner, jewelry designer and much more! Yes, I am a jack of all trades...my friends call me the Black Martha Stewart! LOL!
Lately people I meet say you should love what you do and I absolutely love planning events meeting new people, my Party Gals business....yeah...I do those parties!!! (Adult Novelty Parties...buzz!), making jewelry, baking cakes, being a freelance paralegal/virtual assistant and much more!!!
Sounds interesting Karen. I will certainly send an email to my contact list about it. Unfortunately I will be in Columbia S.C this weekend for the Black Expo. I currently work with the Company that host it. Florida Black Expo will be here October 10th. Good luck with your event....
Hi Karen, Can I just tell you how wonderful I think your business is! I saw your event posting in The Jewelry Artist Group and I think your event is truely creative.
I love how you took something you loved and have turned it into a business. I was so impressed by your upcoming events I just had to stop by and say. (I also left a message for you on the group message board).
And please don't think I am crazy but I really love the partygals.biz site. Being a married woman I am always looking for ways to keep things spicy in the bedroom. So as soon as funds allow I will definitely be making a purchase.
If you haven't done so already please add a link, banner and description for your businesses on Black Business Search. I am always looking for exciting businesses and yours really caught my eye because your passion comes through!
