About Me:
New York based multimedia Producer, entrepreneur and lifestyle marketing specialist, my life and career took on a much different turn than originally anticipated upon graduation from the University of Michigan. A sports fanatic with hopes of turning that passion into a permanent gig as an agent, I soon discovered that female agents were not in vogue in the 80’s. So law school turned into a corporate job at NYNEX where my sights were soon directed to event marketing and big idea promotions. Sadly, writing press releases and making appearances with the company mascot (a polar bear) and the resident clown, proved more than I could stand, so I started moonlighting as a DJ and club promoter. Soon after, I landed in radio promotions where my talents were discovered by one of the station’s major clients and opportunity turned into an 8- year stint with a major concert promoter. All around the world the same song; life on the road is hard and this single mother opted once again for the “stability” of corporate America. In my new role as Marketing Director, I garnered professional experience with Viacom, Clear Channel, Ex’pression Center for New Media and Imagine Media, with room for non profit work as the Minority Enterprise Development Director for Young Community Developers in San Francisco. Still moonlighting, but this time with a bigger dream in mind, I managed to produce a sports talk show, a web and TV based program for the Raiders, start an artist collective and produced a movie of my own, and the soundtrack, get a major distribution deal, start a small clothing line, publish a digital magazine, produce more webshows and start an off-deck mobile channel. Currently working on a number of global-brand client and company driven initiatives, I have turned my vast and diverse life, creative interests and professional experience into a comfortable little business. I no longer have to moonlight, just burn the midnight oil.

OMG, it's time to make some new resolutions

Happy New Year, all! This promises to be an auspicious and prosperous one; I can feel it.

Last year was momentous and I saw many things come to pass which I thought I'd never see in my lifetime. Had some losses. Won some battles. Miss my niece who died too soon. Connected with family. My mother kicked breast cancer and my daughter is going to Columbia University. On the business front, I've got no complaints (other than slow paying folks with last minute changes. Don't they… Continue

My Fashion Week

Posted on September 12, 2008 at 12:00pm 2 Comments

Last week, two key things happened: Football season started and Fashion Week kicked off. I'm in heaven and a bit of hell. As the daughter, mother, sister, niece, granddaughter of fashionistas (and some sharp brothas)--fashion fuels me. Not just shopping and imprinting my own style, but the colors, fabrics, energy and creative energy involved. It's a way of life. It is life. And right now, life is good.

And then we have sports. My other passion (I have many, and that's...okay). Favre… Continue
