I used to know you...Bonus "track" from My Book

Posted on March 18, 2009 at 7:15pm 0 Comments

I used to be you. They snatched us and took us away from the land of our mothers. They raped and pillaged the minds of our brothers. They carried us like famished stocks of cattle and flocks of dehydrated and malnourished pheasant. But yet you forget. Why do you look at me that way like I chose to come here? Why must I walk around with my head down, drenched in guilt and shame. I was the one who was deprived of wearing my father’s birth name. I didn’t want to leave you, I had no choice. I… Continue

Felons Vote!

Posted on September 22, 2008 at 11:54am 0 Comments

“Felons can vote this year.” I heard that statement on this Saturday. My questionable reaction was ‘What?!” and my feeling was dumbfounded. I speculated why I hadn’t heard of this and also I wondered what was so different this year than any other. My first planned course of action was to send out a world wide shout out to let everyone know of this; after some research of course.

Monday morning on my way to the j-o-b, I phoned a family member who lives in CA and has been convicted of… Continue

Sin City

Mountain peaks reach the tip of the atmosphere

Sky lines of glory

Precious stones

Scorching summer breezes

Cool nights

Luminous lights

Constant chatter

Interchangeable space

There is more to Las Vegas…

I love this city but in all honesty she has done absolutely nothing for me and you know what; I never expected her to. I knew it was up to me, ya dig? It was by being here that I was pushed to… Continue

What is it that you want?

Posted on July 31, 2008 at 2:21pm 0 Comments

You approached me and you acted as if you knew who I was

So that led me to assume that you must know who you are

But is it really safe for me to guess that?

Should I trust your word when my soul tells me different?

“Wow, now that’s a woman.” you said.

You said that like you saw what was within me.

You said that like you knew I was a Queen

But did you really look?

And if you did, what did you see?

Because if you actually saw what was inside of… Continue

Please check out this month issue of The Adventist Times

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Do use the month of September to find a way to support the Breast Cancer Movement, even if it's just to increase your knowledge.

View the Breast Cancer articles and video segments. Encourage your loved ones to schedule their mammograms for October, and remember to do Self -Examinations. Early detection is key!

Breast Cancer is not just a woman's disease; men should examine their breasts as well.

I've received TONS of requests to re-play the interview with David and Tamela Mann. She's so pretty!
Well here it is...ENJOY!

Please check this months issue of The Advenitst Times

If you would tell me what you think about Donnie McClurkins page, and the page on Overcoming Addiction. Leave me a comment please. I need to know if these topics are helpful. I'm trying to help as many people as I can.

Minister T.D. Jakes has some "real talk" for the men in our lives.
