About Me:
Diane V. Boone, C.E.O. of Melanian Publishing, Inc., envisions banishing ethnic cultural barriers by encouraging community participation from all the merging cultures as equally important in creating inclusive, welcoming communities throughout Northeast Pennsylvania and eventually throughout the country.

In 2002 she established the Melanian Newsletter, a bi-monthly publication focusing on minority achievement in Northeast Pennsylvania.

In 2003 The Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission recognized her efforts to create a bridge to understanding among Scranton’s culturally diverse communities.

In 2004 Melanian “Newsletter” became Melanian “Newspaper.”

In 2005 Melanian News celebrated it’s first year as a tabloid by hosting the first Unity Festival—bring businesses, organization and families together for a day of food, fun, and information.

In 2006 she was chosen as one of Pennsylvania’s Best 50 Women in Business.

1n 2007 Facilitated in organizing the Greater Scranton MLK Commission’s first three-day, community wide celebration.

In 2008 hosted the inaugural Black History Appreciation Dinner in partnership with Lackawanna College.

Appointed president of the MLK Commission

Recipient of the Martha B. Wollerton Award by PNC Wealth Management for her commitment to community.

Graduate of the 2007-08 Leadership Lackawanna Class.
