Why do you want to join Black Business Women Online?
I would like to get feedback and encouragement from women who are successful in their business. I'd also like to offer assistance to others if I am able.
What's Your Business?
I'm working on a few things, one being a day spa and an event planning/hostess company.
How did you find BBWO?
I am currently an educator in Chicago. My ultimate goal is to own my own business. I have a few ideas I'd like to pursue.
I have been licensed by the State of Illinois as a nail technician for over 10 years. I have worked as an independent contractor, employee and as a mobile nail technician. I also am available for spa parties. I am not servicing many clients these days because I am returning to cosmetology school to get my license as a cosmetologist.
I enjoy pampering others as well as being pampered. I am excited about opening my day spa. Prayerfully I will be open in 2010.
I am also working on an event/hostess business. My sister and I have been asked to host some baby showers and bridal/bachelorette parties. Many people want to be able to enjoy their guest without having the responsibility of running games, purchasing gifts, decorating, etc. I am excited about this as well. I think this business will take off before the day spa.
Just wanted to invite you to The Passion and Purpose Conference & Expo!

I am interested in becoming a massage therapist/nail technician and just wanted to ask the question, how did you go about getting started? I mean did you attend a local cosmetology school if so, how long did it take? I used to do my own nails, but never actually pursued it, but I think it is something I would like to have under my belt you know. And I am definetly interested in working (or owning) a spa. I would like to stay in touch with you and maybe work on putting something together for my "girls" for Mother's Day, as far as your spa parties, it sounds like a blast.
Hi Olga! This is Tanya DePeiza from Women In Progress, Inc. You left a comment on my page in July!!! So sorry for this delay. I'm finally getting to really working this networking opportunity with this site.
I would love to talk to you more about your business (it sounds great from what I've read above) and Women In Progress so that we can hopfully network with each other since you're here in Chicago.
Please email me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org if you're still interested. All of your services would help me with my clients. I hope you've attained your cosmetology license, and if you're still working on it, keep on moving forward! God bless and I look forward to talking to you soon.
Hi, this is Kenya of FAM Entertainment Theatre Co. (where we focus on achievement and motivation through entertainment). The 2008 year is almost at its end. We must reflect on past hurdles in order to rebuild broken foundations and acknowledge that life for everyone has its own individual journey. It is urgent that we re-direct our footsteps toward a progressive direction, in other words financial freedom. With the housing market “tremendously down”, employment opportunities moving away and with the stress of everyday life, it is easy to fall victim to self–neglect. Kenya would like to assist you with your credit situations and real estate avenues. With several years of experience in the area of financing & real estate including: Loans, Purchasing and Selling,Re-Finance and Credit Consulting, Kenya provides you with key instruments that will RECOVER, REBUILD & REMOVE credit hampering accounts.
