Traveling

Posted on June 11, 2008 at 12:45pm 0 Comments

For the next three days I will be traveling to and from Newport, RI to see my niece graduate from HS. I'm leaving the driving to Greyhound, which means it'll take 5-6 hours to get there (I could be in LA by then, but I digress).

I leave tomorrow morning. So here I sit, trying to decide which work items are absolutely necessary for me to take along. If my Blackberry was still in my possession (was stolen 2 weeks ago), this would be much easier.

This is the first time, since… Continue

More networking

Posted on June 9, 2008 at 11:56pm 0 Comments

I just came home from yet another networking event. With the oppressive heat here in New York City, the LAST thing I wanted to do was leave my air-conditioned apartment/home-office. But after arguing with myself for about 20 minutes (always an interesting thing to watch), I decided to go. And I'm glad I did. There were only 4 of us there. I got to really know the people who were there. It turned into a brainstorming session. It was a productive brainstorming session. I got to share my knowledge… Continue

My Pitch - what do you think?

Posted on June 6, 2008 at 2:45pm 7 Comments

I recently went to a networking event where each person was videotaped as they delivered their pitch/30 second commercial. Mine is below. What do you think? Any feedback is greatly appreciated. It's my plan to tweak it, practice it, and use a future version to advertise. Thanks in advance!

They offer a variety of online resources for women entrepreneurs. They also have events around the country - the focus of which is a competition to become a part of their program that provides coaching, mentorship, and a variety of REALLY… Continue

The Importance of Business Hours

Posted on June 2, 2008 at 7:42pm 12 Comments

I realized yesterday that part of MY problem is that i didn't have set "business hours". Now I know that as a new entrepreneur that concept is, at times, laughable. In order for the business to grow, sacrifice is necessary. Since I've jumped head first into my business, I could easily make it a 24/7 job. However, I need my sanity in order to be effective with my clients.

So starting today, I've implemented business hours. It's still definitely a full-time job +; a full time job based… Continue

Natasha,

I learned so much about you just by reading the beginning of your blogs! Your personality comes right through. 8-)

I know your service is needed (going through my own divorce) and I hope we can team together to help each of us achieve our own 'Make Mine A Million'. I will definitely be checking out Count Me In (see blog above for link for anyone else reading this).

I know finances can be a big issue and it all starts with credit.

Talk soon.

Hi there, I just wanted to introduce myself and my new business. I am trying to network with as many people as possible to see if there are ways that we can support each other. I offer unique and affordable works of African art that make impactful gifts for all occasions. If you have a special occasion coming up, or if you just want to connect with Africa yourself, please bookmark our site.

Do you know anyone who has a birthday or special event coming up, Natasha?

Thank you for your consideration.
